ยง 4.44 Executive Order No. 44: Declaring a disaster emergency in Allegany County and portions of Steuben County [Revoked by Executive Order No. 30 (George E. Pataki), infra.]

WHEREAS, over the period June 17-18, 1984, a severe storm system resulted in flooding and caused personal hardship, damage to residential and commercial properties and the agricultural community, as well as disruption of vital public transportation systems in Allegany and Steuben Counties,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mario M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of New York, do hereby find that a disaster has occurred within Allegany and Steuben Counties, for which local governments are unable to respond adequately, and therefore, I hereby declare, pursuant to the authority vested in me by the Constitution, the Laws of the State of New York and section 28 of article 2-B of the Executive Law, a disaster emergency, effective June 17, 1984, within the territorial boundaries of Allegany County, and for Steuben County, within the Townships of Canisteo, Cohocton, Dansville, Hartsville and Hornellsville.

FURTHER, pursuant to section 29 of article 2-B of the State Executive Law, I direct the implementation of the State Disaster Preparedness Plan and authorize, effective June 17, 1984, the State Emergency Management Office, the State Department of Transportation, and other State agencies as necessary, to take appropriate actions to assist Allegany and Steuben Counties in restoring vital public transportation systems and to provide such other assistance as may be necessary to protect the public health and safety. Signed: Mario M. Cuomo
